Free tax preparation assistance is available for households earning less than $60,000 a year.
Accounting Aid Society’s team of tax professionals and volunteers is dedicated to giving southeast Michigan households the confidence of an accurately prepared tax return, and the peace of mind that comes with having a team by your side for year-round support.
Tax prep assistance is available at the Brighton District Library the following dates:
Mondays, February 6 through April 10 from 1pm to 6pm (no availability February 20 or March 20).

AARP
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides free tax preparation in different ways – in-person, low-contact, or contact-free – depending on what service is available in your area. Some sites can provide service in one or two visits, or you may not need to visit a site at all, with all interactions taking place online.
AARP tax prep assistance will be available at the Northridge Church, Brighton Campus the following dates:
Tuesdays, February 7 through April 18 from 9am to 2pm.

You can also choose to prepare your tax return yourself, with coaching from one of AARP’s IRS-certified tax counselors. To do so, make a request using this form.
