The Guardian's Curse by Acorn
Heat is rising in me
I'm shaken to the core
Freedom lost
Liife taken
Strong on the outside
The one thing that can break me
Stand tall, stand strong
An arrow through my wing
A net wrapped around the other
It brings me to my knees
Lift me up, speak to me!
My heart scrreams for comfort
My stubborness turns it away
Save me my mind can't help but think
But I save others
No one saves me
I am a leader, I am a guardian
I do not sit in towers and wait for rescue
Even when I need it though
No one will come for me

Reflection (Tsuyu) by Sco
In reflection I watch the clouds darken the sky above
The cool breeze brings with it recollections left wanting
I embrace this moment
The rain falls all around me
I stand motionless, cold and wet
But I still smile
A sweet scent lingers as the soft shower continues
Comfort, serenity -- these sentiments relived
Inside, however, a smudged truth cannot be cleansed
The rain falls all around me
I stand motionless, cold and wet
But I still smile
This grey shade of heaven mirrors my actions
Meaningful expressions forever unheard
Beautiful recipient of stone
The rain falls all around me
I stand motionless, cold and wet
But I still smile
I reach out to grasp but a single drop
Only to find my hand empty upon return
My lips tremble, I remember now, I understand...
My flower is washed away before it could ever blossom
The rain falls all around me
I stand motionless, cold and wet
But I don't mind...
At least...
...no one can see these tears as it rains...

The Dream by Katy
One winter s night,
When the moon was bright,
I met my prince.
With hair like leaves,
And eyes like the seas,
He was the perfect man for me.
Yet at his side,
His soon to be bride,
And she as handsome as he.
With eyes like the seas,
He stared back at me, and with a crimson face,
I smiled.
As I smiled,
She slapped his face,
So I had to walk away.
The next night,
I went back to our start,
And waited.
There he was,
Standing by the shores,
But with no bride,
He walked to me,
And gave me something I could not see,
And I stared back at him.
He smiled,
Showing his shining teeth,
And leaned in to kiss me.
I awoke from my dream,
I got out of bed,
And looked out my window,
There was my prince,
Waiting for me.

Prayers and Zoos by Ashe
I ve never had a miracle (to tell me if he s there)
Never seen an angel or someone rise from the dead (no miraculous conversion for me)
So why should I believe? (that there s a Big Guy in the sky?)
It s the little things He does for me (that tell me why)
Like that time when I was little (and got lost in the zoo)
Scared and alone, just wanting home (with no idea what to do)
I slipped into a quite corner (to say a prayer, just like my mother taught me)
Heavenly Father, please help me find my mummy. Amen. (came that innocent child s prayer)
A moment later a kind mister found me (I think he saw the tear streaks on my cheeks)
Are you alright, little one? (he asked, kneeling in front of me)
I could only shake my head (he gently took my hand and lent me his aid)
Together we found my mum (who cried happy tears)
When we turned to thank him (the man had disappeared!)
So you see (it s the little things that count)
Cause little things build up (and because a man in the zoo answered a prayer)
I find I must believe (that a caring God is there)

Falling by Lauren H.
Help,
I need help,
I am falling,
Falling into a hole,
A deep black hole,
Unless someone,
Rescues me,
I will cripple up,
And never be free.
I will be gone forever,
Just me.
I am falling,
Falling very fast,
Into a pit,
A deep and scary pit.
The darkness,
It is what I deserve.
Every time I get close,
Close to the end,
It just gets deeper,
And I try to send,
Send for help,
But nobody can hear,
Hear my desperate calls,
For I am falling,
Falling into fiery halls.
The deeper I go,
The harder it is,
To get back up,
Where I won t fizz.
It gets so hot,
I can t breathe,
Please, I need help,
Help with ease

Turning by Lauren H.
I am so close,
So close to the end,
You have found it,
Found a friend.
The key is the friend,
A friend to me,
One that will unlatch,
Don t you see?
The key is bright,
And coming my way,
It is there,
And I am far away.
Here it is in front of me,
I reach with all my might,
I grab the key,
What a delicate delight!
Turn the key,
I am free,
Free from all of harm,
I am me!
|
Unlatch by Lauren H.
Stick out your hand,
And free my chains,
So I will be free,
Get this out of my brain.
A bit of shining,
To raise me up,
Back up to air,
To be released from the dump.
Power me up,
With your light,
So I can climb,
And back out of fright.
Just help me,
With all your might,
Just find the key,
It will be a marvelous sight.
The key will unlatch,
The misery,
And will release,
All of me.
Just stop me from falling,
Falling into the drain,
Just stick out your hand,
And free my chains

Circus Life by Ashe
Standing in the circus big top (hey, look, I m in the center ring)
The world is in the stands
Having a good time (as they sing)
Hey! do you hear the circus song?
It s laughter
It s life at its zenith
As the colors dance (and spin and whirl)
I m head of the show (with you dictating it, of course)
With my cane and top hat (oh, what a showman!)
Can I
May I have your attention?
If you look at the ring to left you ll see the break-up of the year! (thought they d never do it, but look they ll get though it!)
Never knew all these sordid secrets they kept (in the stands they laugh and jeer)
He cheated
She cheated (oh, and did you know, she s in love with his best friend and he hers)
Not so perfect after all (didn t think it for a second)
Now, if you would I d have you look to the right (first ring taking center stage, part of the last act s run off in tears)
Best friends forever (since birth it seems)
But one let something slip (now, now they can t speak)
Hey! Hey! Listen to their screams (oh the outrage, this travesty and tragedy)
Why d you tell him? (here it comes)
I thought you loved him (well, there s your answer, don t it speak for itself?)
I trusted you! (that conventional, cliche reply)
I m sorry! (comes the outburst, an attempt to mend a busted trust)
That doesn t cut it my friend ! (oh that word, such mockery, now it s war!)
Well at least I didn t tell him- (this and this and that embarrassing childhood incident)
Why you! (oh, this could go on forever, let s not bore the crowd)
And would you look back to the center (it s time to end this show, it s getting lengthy)
Hey look, it s a divorce! (maybe it s the same tale as that high school girl and boy?)
But no
Turns out there s been some deception (the women, she s into woman)
The wife s running off with her girlfriend (oh, but think of the kids)
The husband s gazing into the bottom of a bottle (does it hold the answers?)
His little girl tugging at his shirt (and she s asking, yes, she s asking)
Daddy, why s Mommy gone? She s not in her room.
And this man
He weeps (he s a broken man that downs the drink just to forget)
She stares wide-eyed (he s Daddy, he s strong, he s not supposed to cry)
He gathers her to him (her sweet little face looks just like hers)
Tears coat her hair (she hugs him, that little girl she s special, an angel in disguise meant to hold him as he cries)
Daddy, I love you. You re going to be okay (That sweet little voice whispers and her dear little hands, they gently pry the bottle away)
That s my act (that s all folks, looks like it s done)
And so you file out of the tent (grinning and laughing at the highlights of the show)
Leaving me to watch
To search for the next display (don t worry, the people I ve shown you, they ll find a way)
The song fades away (the colors disappear, it was just an act anyway)
And so I m left in the center ring (hey look, it s my life that s playing in the rings)
I know all the endings (what you saw was my memories today)
These people
They re real (don t worry they re fine)
Let s get on with the next show! (cold, I know, but how else to live?)
And so you file in again (this cycle it never ends)

Late Goodbyes by Courtney
Window sitting me
sky watching delight
What more could I want
accompanied by
the sun in the sky
butterflies flutt'ring bees buzzing by
birds sing in the air
All of a sudden
everything stops still
My mom comes crying
I ask her,"What's wrong?"
She sighs a moment
taking a deep breath
The two tall towers
have taken a crash
Millions have died
they have died, said she
Kids without mothers
Alone on the street
cont...
|
She then walked away
leaving me to think
of the horrendous
event that's just past
Imagine, just think
See in your mind's eye
Consider your mom
or even your dad
Innocent people
with nowhere to go
Stuck on the top of
one of the towers
Tears in my eyeballs
sliding down my cheek
Raining and raining
a pool at my feet
The storm now ended
still clouds in the sky
They are not going
They're still in my mind
Alone on my seat
by myself I sit
Looking at the sky
I noticed great change
cont...
|
The sky very gray
no butterflies 'round
Birds that were singing
Now silent as death
The bees do not buzz
yet they fly right by
The sun is not out
There's clouds in the sky
For nothing is good
there's no good at all
Nothing on earth could
take care for us all
There's one up above
Controls the heavens
He...he can help us
could care for us all
For under our God
It's our God we trust
We stand as one
