Exploring ebooks: netLibrary

Brighton patrons are able to access a collection of 15,000 titles through the MEL Ebooks collection at netLibrary. You will be able to browse and read these titles online from your own computer once you have created your netLibrary account in the library. netLibrary also supplies access to our Downloadable Audiobooks.

Questions about netLibrary:

Q: What are e-books?
A: E-books are electronic versions of printed books. They include the same text, photos and illustrations that you would find in a printed book. The titles available through netLibrary can be read on your web browser one page at a time.

Q: Where can I access netLibrary?
A: Once you have created an account at the library, you can access netLibrary from anywhere you have Internet access using your account name, including the library, home, school or work. Once your account is made, just go to netlibrary.com and type in your new login and password.

Q: Can I download netLibrary e-books?
A: No, you can view the book and print it one page at a time. You can also copy and past a page at a time, but you can't download the book or part of the book.

Q: Can I print netLibrary e-books?
A: You can print one page at a time from a netLibrary e-book.

Q: What features does netLibrary offer?
A: The netLibrary collection offers a number of features including the ability to search the text of the book, add a book to your favorites, add notes to a book, and an online dictionary.

Q: What books are in the collection?
A:
This is a collection of approximately 15,000 titles. Books are available in the following subject areas and many more. There are newly published books and older classics. There are many reference materials also included.

Create a netLibrary Account


1. Access the netLibrary web site at the library.

2. Click on Create Account near the top of the page.

3. Complete the account form to create a username and password for your eBook account.  You must fill in all of the items in bold red.  (Make a note of your username and password if you might forget it!)

4. Click on the Submit button.

5. Read the Membership Agreement and click on Accept to continue.

6. Once the user account process is complete, you will receive a message and will be automatically logged into netLibrary.
