Stage 4
begins July 6

GRAB & GO (30 Minutes or less)

Limited Building Access

Mon-Thu, 10:00am – 9pm;
Fri-Sat, 10am – 5 pm
Sun – Closed

Building Access

Masks are required.
The building is open to the public regular hours of operation; access to certain areas may be restricted.
Visitors will be asked to visit the Library quickly and efficiently (30 minutes or less) to find and check out materials and get help.
Social distancing and safety guidelines will be followed.
In-Library Services
Patrons will be allowed to visit the Library to find and check out materials and get help from Library staff.
Occupancy is limited to 25% capacity in the Library at one time.
Food and beverage are not permitted unless necessary for medical reasons.
Quiet study rooms, meeting rooms and public computers remain unavailable to the public. Chromebooks are available for 24 hour checkout.
All toys and manipulatives remain unavailable for public use.
Copy and fax services are available.  Printing available via our mobile print service.

Friends Book Store is open. Materials cost $.50-$1.00.

Returns
Book Returns are open. Oversize items and kits are  accepted at the service desk. Returned items will be quarantined based on CDC guidance.
Curbside Pick Up
Curbside pick-up of library materials remains available.

Cleaning
Daily cleaning and disinfecting of all high touch areas will be conducted.
Stage 5 LIMITED USAGE CONDITIONS

In-Library Expanded Services Based on State of Michigan guidelines, patrons will be able to access the building to find and check out materials, use computers and get help. Quiet study rooms will be available. Social distancing and all safety guidelines will be followed.

Returns Patrons are able to return items in our book returns. Oversized items and kits will be accepted at the service desk. Returned items will be quarantined based on CDC guidance.

What do I do with my library materials?
Book Returns are open. Oversize items and kits are  accepted at the service desk. Returned items will be quarantined based on CDC guidance.

Is the Brighton District Library receiving materials from other TLN (The Library Network) Libraries?
Yes, from libraries that have re-opened.

Is the Brighton District Library receiving materials from MeLCat libraries (“Interlibrary loan”)?
Yes!

Can I place items on hold by calling the Library or by using the online catalog?
Yes.

Can I renew my library card by phone?
Yes. You can renew your library card by calling 810-229-6571.

Can I drop off donations?
No. We are not accepting donations at this time.

Can I buy materials from the Friends Book Store?
Yes!  Materials may be purchased from the Friends Book Store.  Materials cost $.50-$1.00.

Who do I talk to about room rentals?
There will be no meeting room rentals until the Library is in Stage 6.

Can I volunteer at the Library?
No. Volunteers are not being accepted until the Library is in Stage 6.

Will the Library be doing outreach?
No. The Library has suspended outreach services until the Library is in Stage 6.
