PowerPoint: Next Steps - Wed April 9; 2:00-4:00pm (Registration begins 3/26) - Now that you know the basics, let’s go on! In this class you’ll learn how to add custom animations, change templates, print handouts, and more!

Digital Camera Basics - Wed April 23; 10:00am-12:00pm (Registration begins 4/9) – Hal Gould, photographer for the Milford Times, will walk you through the basics of photography using a digital camera. Feel free to bring your own digital camera, instruction booklet, and USB connector cord to download images.
Basic Computing: From the On Button - Wed May 7; 10:00am-12:00pm (Registration begins 4/23) - For the person who has seldom or never touched a computer, this class will cover how to turn a computer on & off, basic hardware, terminology, and how to use a mouse. (handout)
Internet Introduction - Wed May 21; 10:00am-12:00pm (Registration begins 5/7) - This class will discuss what the Internet is, what is required to get connected to the Internet, practice using the Internet. (handout)
Exploring Graphic Editing with Gimp – Wed May 21; 2:00 – 4:00pm (Registration begins 5/7) Gimp is a powerful, free, image editing program that has many of the same features as Photoshop. It is available for Unix, Windows, and Macintosh computers. Learn how to install Gimp on a Windows operating system and use it to crop, resize, add text and use other tools.
Finding Information Online – Mon Jun 2; 10:00am – 12:00pm (Registration begins 5/20) Learn how to be a better Internet searcher, discriminate between good and bad information, and how to find and request materials through the online library catalog and our newest resource, MelCat. (handout)
Safety on the Internet – Mon Jun 2; 7:00 – 8:30pm (no registration required) - The Internet, while containing a wealth of valuable information, can also hold many risks for children and teens. Walker Sharp, FBI Internet Specialist, and Kim Sharp, teacher and teen librarian, will share personal accounts and introduce techniques in identifying unsafe online situations and how to handle them. Parents and children are encouraged to attend this program together.
Basic Computing: Intro to Windows – Mon June 9: 2:00-4:30pm (Registration begins 5/26) - Covers basic elements of Microsoft Windows operating system: what is the desktop, elements of a windows application, how to save and delete a file, creating and manipulating folders. Must know how to use a mouse. (handout)
